Buckmaster Announces 2022 Recruiting Class

IU Southeast head softball coach Tiffany Buckmaster announced her initial high school recruiting class of 10 players today.

"We are really excited about this incoming class," Buckmaster said. "Not only are they good ball players they are even better people that align and are bought into our culture and values.  This class will provide depth and competition all throughout our lineup.  I am looking forward to seeing how this class grows and develops this program as a whole and as individuals."

Two pitchers and eight position players are joining the Grenadier roster for the 2023 season.

IU Southeast closed the 2022 season by winning 16 of its final 19 games and advanced to the semifinals of the River States Conference tournament.

2023 Signees

Kendall Brown – OF-Floyd Central High School

Honors/Achievements: Hoosier Hills All-Conference team, All-State selection, All-Academic Team, NTSPY Player of the Year, Floyd Central Outfielder of the Year, National Honors Society.

Major: Business, Marketing

Abigail Chandler – OF-Jeffersonville High School

Honors/Achievements: MaxPreps Player of the Week

Major: Computer Science

Izzy Dix – C, 3B, 1B – Evansville Central

Honors/Achievements: 2021 Evansville Courier and Press All Metro Team Catcher, Gold Glove award, 2021 First Team SIAC All Conference selection, Academic All City team, Academic All-State team.

2019: Hit .373 with 19 hits, 2021: hit .400 with 30 hits and 26 RBI, 18 runners caught stealing

Savannah Gaither – RHP – Charlestown H.S.

Honors/Achievements: Courier-Journal All-Area team, News and Tribune All-Area team, MSC All-Conference team, National Honor Society

Hit .430, 2 HR, 24 RBI, 37 hits, 18 SB, 3.44 ERA

Major: Nursing

Emily Hall – OF – Pleasure Ridge Park H.S.

Honors/Achievements: two-time all district selection, NHA Honor Roll

Hit .386 and slugged .727 with two home rusn and 15 RBI. Scored 14 runs in 13 games.

Major: Biology

Chloe Helms – C/3B- Edgewood High School

Honors/Achievements: .408 batting average, .307 slugging percentage, .500 OBP, 5 2B, 6 3B and 20 RBI in 2021.

Major: Neuroscience and Psychology

Taylor Hoggatt – C, OF – North Vigo High School

Honors/Achievements: two-time team captain, 1st Team All-Conference selection, led team with .385 batting average, softball gold medal award.

Hit .385, 22 runs scored, 18 RBI and .448 OBP in 29 games

Major: Biology, Pre-Dental

Lexie McGlothlin – 1B, RF – Bloomington South High School

Honors/Achievements: All-Conference selection, hit .348, .434 OBP, .667 SLG and .958 Fielding Pct.

Major: Elementary Education

Alaina Winzeler –OF, INF-Edgewood High School

Honors/Achievements – Western Indiana All-Conference team, 2021, Mental Attitude award and Coaches' Award, North-South All-Star Game selection in 2021 and 2022, National Honor Society, Academic All-State in 2021 and 2022

Major: Psychology or Business

Isabella Wright – RHP – Male High School

Honors/Achievements: 2019 State Champion, 2019 National Champion, 2021 All Region Team, 2021 Academic All State Team

18-6 record, 2.99 ERA, 111 strikeouts, hit .373, .493 OBP, 1.033 OPS
