No. 10 Georgetown Defeats Iu Southeast 79-55;
The IU Southeast men's basketball team fell to No. 10 Georgetown College 79-55 on Tuesday.
The Grenadiers jumped out to an 8-4 lead to open the first half. A 7-0 run from Georgetown gave the Tigers an 11-8 lead. After IU Southeast tied the game at 11-11, Georgetown went on a 9-0 run to take a 20-11 advantage.
The Grenadiers used a 10-2 run to narrow the lead to 22-21. The Grenadiers cut the lead to 25-23 later in the half, but the Tigers answered with a 6-0 run to take a 31-23 lead into halftime.
Anthony Wales Jr. led the Grenadiers with eight first half points. Glenn Hill scored four points in the first half and grabbed a team-high five first half rebounds.
Georgetown jumped out to 43-28 lead to open the second half. The Tigers maintained a double-digit lead for the majority of the second half. A Georgetown layup extended the Tiger lead to 21 at 65-44. A 7-0 run by the Tigers later in the half extended the Georgetown lead to a game-high 24 points at 74-50. Georgetown took the contest 79-55 over IU Southeast.
Glenn Hill led the Grenadiers with 13 points and eight rebounds. Anthony Wales Jr scored 12 points and dished out a team high three assists. The Grenadiers were outrebounded 51-29 in the contest, leading to 13 second chance points for the Tigers.
IU Southeast (4-1) hosts Brescia next Tuesday in their first RSC contest of the season.
