Four Earn B1G Distinguished Scholar

The Indiana football quartet of Peter Schulz, Ricky Tamis, Trey Walker and Luke Wiginton have all earned Distinguished Scholar accolades from the Big Ten office, as the year-end list was announced by the conference office on Wednesday (July 13).

Schulz, a supply chain management major from Franklin, Michigan, joined the program as a walk-on in 2019 and has been a two-time Academic All-Big Ten pick. Tamis, a sports marketing & management major from Miami Beach, Florida, earns his second career B1G Distinguished Scholar recognition (2020) and is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten pick. Tamis has earned the program's offensive scout team player of the year award in each of the last two seasons.

A Winnetka, Illinois, native, Walker earns Big Ten Distinguished Scholar for the second time in his career as a sports marketing & management. A walk-on in 2019, the tight end has appeared in two games during his career and was the program's 2020 offensive scout team player of the year. Wiginton earns his first Big Ten Distinguished Scholar as a psychology major. An early enrollee in 2020, Wiginton was also an academic All-Big Ten pick following his second season on campus.
