City, Downtown Bloomington Inc. Celebrate Fourth of July with Annual Parade

The City of Bloomington and partner Downtown Bloomington Inc. observe Independence Day with the annual Fourth of July Parade Monday, July 4 at 10 a.m.

Festivities begin at 8:30 a.m. on the Monroe County Courthouse Square with a live performance by the Bloomington Community Band. The Monroe County Commissioners will hold a dedication ceremony for the newly renovated Alexander Memorial on the southeast side of the square at 9 a.m. The Fourth of July Parade begins at 10 a.m.

The parade reviewing stand and MC Jim Inman will be located on Kirkwood Avenue in front of Fountain Square Mall.

The parade begins at the corner of 10th Street and College Avenue. Entries will march south to Kirkwood Avenue, then one block east to Walnut Street, and will march north on Walnut Street back to the starting point.

This year's parade features 60 entries showcasing dozens of local businesses, emergency responders, marching bands and youth groups. For a complete list of parade entries, click here to visit the Fourth of July Parade website.

The Fourth of July Parade is proudly sponsored by the IU Credit Union, and generously supported by ISU The May Agency and The Awards Center.

Spectator admission to the Fourth of July Parade, the Bloomington Community Band concert, and the Alexander Memorial Dedication is free, as is parking downtown on July 4. The parade takes place rain or shine.
