REYNOLDS EARNS RSC FIRST TEAM HONORS AS TENNIS AWARDS ANNOUNCED
Freshman Brent Reynolds capped off a succesful season by being recognized on the River States Conference First Team as all-conference awards were announced prior to the conference tournament.
The All-RSC First Team had players from four schools with Baltazar and Gustavo Marangoni from Oakland City, Danila Pyzh from Brescia (Ky.) University, Brent Reynolds from Indiana University Southeast plus Adrian Martinez and Francisco Faundez from Indiana University East.
Reynolds, a duPont Manual High School product, teamed with Caleb Harris at No. 2 doubles for much of the season and was the No. 2 singles player for the Grenadiers.
Andre Baltazar from Oakland City (Ind.) University was named the RSC Men's Tennis Player of the Year. Midway (Ky.) University's German Collado was voted RSC Men's Tennis Newcomer of the Year.
The Indiana University East coaching staff received Coach of the Year recognition. Kyle Wright and Manuel Roman, who took the helm of the Red Wolves in January, helped IU East to the regular season RSC crown for the first time in program history.
The All-RSC Second Team featured players from IU East, Brescia and Midway. For the complete list of honorees, see below.
Also named was the RSC Men's Tennis Champions of Character Team. One member of each team was nominated by their head coach as the one who best exhibits the NAIA five core character values of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship. For IU Southeast, Cade Burman of the men's and Emma Ellis of the women's team were the representatives.
