Edgewood High School recently issued the following announcement.
Zwettler retirement
Edgewood High School Athletic Director Chris Zwettler has announced his retirement as a teacher, boys’ varsity basketball coach, and athletic director effective the end of this school year. We thank Chris for his 33 years of service, dedication and leadership to Edgewood.
Edgewood Athletes and our Athletic programs have flourished under Zwettler. Annually 75% of our student body participates on one or more teams. Our 21 sports have also achieved great success. Since joining the WIAA in 1999, Edgewood teams have captured over 100 Badger Conference Championships, and have been State Champion or Runner-up more than 50 times, in 15 different sports. Each year, many Edgewood Athletes move on to compete at the college level.
Principal Jerry Zander will lead a search for Edgewood’s next athletic director. The new athletic director will be responsible for hiring a new boys’ basketball coach.
Edgewood wishes Chris the very best in his retirement!
