Indiana University Southeast Athletics issued the following announcement on Mar 9.
Clay Woeste hit two two-run home runs, including the go-ahead shot to lead IU Southeast past Aquinas 14-8 on Monday.
The Grenadiers (17-1) trailed 6-0 after the top of the third inning. IU Southeast got a pair of runs back in the bottom of the inning when Jake Scott drew a bases loaded walk to bring in Daunte Decello and Derek Wagner hit a RBI single to left score Woeste.
IU Southeast took its first lead of the game in the fourth with a five-run inning. Clay Woeste hit his first two-run home run to left to cut the lead to 6-4. Then Brody Tanksley doubled to center to score Marco Romero who had reached on a walk. Tanksley moved to third on a passed ball and scored when Santrel Farmer got caught in a rundown and Tanksley slid in ahead of the throw home. Tyler Mills followed with a triple to center to score Farmer.
The Saints (3-6) tied the game in the top of the fifth but Woeste answered with a two-run home run to left-center, his fifth of the season, in the bottom of the inning.
IU Southeast put the game out of reach in the bottom of the sixth. Trevor MacDonald tripled to score Mills who had doubled, MacDonald would score an error by the first baseman Nathan Hughes.
Clay Woeste drove in Austin Wise with a RBI double and John Ullom hit a two-run single to center to give the Grenadiers a 14-7 lead.
Woeste finished the day 4-for-6 with four runs scored and five RBI. Tyler Mills was 3-for-4 and Brody Tanksley had two hits.
IU Southeast travels to Lindsey Wilson Wednesday at 6 p.m.
